Speaking of Star Wars/Republican analogies, about a month or so back, Jon Stewart had a fantastic riff about Darth Vader being the only person/evil entity in the universe able to communicate effectively with Dick Cheney, the idea being that Cheney would only listen to someone as truly evil as himself. (Of course, I could argue that Vader wasn't technically truly evil, as the man George Lucas - and the movies themselves - say that Vader did have good in him, as seen in the end of Return of the Jedi, but I digress...)
