biblical adam: the bedroom acrobat

so there's a museum dedicated to creationism... in kentucky (where else?) ... and they made a video about how god created the universe a la genesis...and then this happened:

In a video shown at a new museum purporting to demonstrate how God created the universe, actor Eric Linden portrays Adam breathing life's first breath. A jaunt around the Internet shows Linden posing alongside a drag queen on an explicit Web site he owned called Bedroom Acrobat, the Associated Press reports. The Web site allows its network of members to post explicit stories and photos, AP reports. When it learned of Linden's activities with the Web site, the Creation Museum in Kentucky pulled the 40-second video in which he appears. "We are currently investigating the veracity of these serious claims of his participation in projects that don't align with the biblical standards and moral code upon which the ministry was founded," a spokesman for Answers in Genesis, which built the newly opened museum, said in a written statement to AP.

answers in genesis? really? i suppose that explains the logic behind the associated group "intelligence in george w. bush." still, the idea of a drag queen w/ adam and eve in the garden of eden is pretty awesome.

A ban on pornographic Web sites at Monroe County libraries was adopted Wednesday, a move expected to preserve county funding for the Central Library of Rochester but leaves library leaders at odds over whether the decision is censorship. The two boards that oversee policies for the Central Library and the county library system were under threat of essentially having the Central Library shut down by County Executive Maggie Brooks over a long-held policy that had let adult patrons — upon request — unblock potentially inappropriate or pornographic Web sites. To satisfy [County Executive Maggie] Brooks and retain $6.6 million in county aid, the Monroe County Library System Board, over the objections of the Rochester Public Library board, approved a new policy recommended by a library task force formed in February.
The policy, which is expected to extend to all libraries in the county, calls for using the library's Internet filtering system to block all pornographic sites unless — after a written request — an administrator deems a site appropriate for a patron to view. But how the policy will be implemented and what librarians will deem pornographic remains unclear.

dear maggie,
it's not like i was using the first amendment anyway, so why not just toss it out the window because some people don't like the fact that porn is constitutionally protected material. this is the definition of a slippery slope (no pun intended). but if you're gonna throw out the first amendment, why stop there? i've been saying that the second amendment needs to go for years!

this all makes so much sense: cause it's librarians that should be deciding what is and isn't porn. talk about idiotic. oy, this whole thing makes me so mad i may actually increase the volume of my voice (which is the equivalent of someone else throwing a screaming fit). suffice to say maggie brooks is an idiot. sorry if that seems harsh mags, but there's no other way to put it...that is until you deem the use of the word idiot to be pornographic.

conservatives give gay porn star an award

ok, so y'all may remember hearing about the CPAC conference last weekend where coultergiest made her homophobic slur against john edwards. well, one more interesting little tidbit has arisen from that gathering of *cough* conservatives. it turns out that Matt Sanchez, a 36-year-old Columbia student and Marine Corps reservist, who has been all over fox news in the past cause he claims he was mocked about his military service by folks at Columbia, has also gone by the name "Rod Majors" in such cinematic triumphs as Jawbreaker, Donkey Dick, and Glory Holes Of Fame 3. yep, he's a former gay porn star (and male escort, as it turns out...but no business with the fabulously rev. ted haggard has turned up yet).

so why was he at the CPAC conference, you ask? well, aside from his past cozying up to coultergiest, hannity, o'reilly, gingrich, malkin, and other conservatives after he spoke publicly on his experiences at Columbia (bashing one of the evil eight will get you on fox news, no problem), he was being presented with, wait for it...an award. the CPAC’s Jeane Kirkpatrick Academic Freedom Award.

all that along with the gay-bashing remarks of colutergiest at the conference, makes this photo of Sanchez and coultergiest all the more wonderful...feel free to insert your own thought bubbles.
